Sweden
Sweden is such a lovely country. At spring, Skåne shows it's absolutely best side. A lot of trees have been cut down in the fields surrounding out cottage, so the view is really fantastic now. It is clear, why the cottage was build on exactly that spot!

The first rhubarbs
Green, green, green
The garden is at its best now. Green, beautiful, and flowers and trees blooming all over. The seedling project is still quite demanding, but I managed to persuade a few friends to provide a new home for some of the plants. I dried my laundry in the garden as well, nothing like the smell from sheets dried outside in the sun. How privileged we are!
Small knit projects
Despite the lovely weather we have had for close to two weeks now, I found time to knit a little. I have finished knitting my Spring Casual - a classic blouse from Spinnerin 162. The vintage pattern is perfect. The plan was to have it ready for the weekend, but finishing it up is so boring. Instead I made two small projects, a pair of baby booties and a camera bag. I will write up the pattern for the camera bag and post it, I really like the way it turned out. In particular I am happy about the band that closes the bag. It can actually be used without the band, but the contrasting colour is nice. It fits my small pocket camera perfectly.

Yarn, yarn, yarn
The spring weather has prevented me from real progress on the embroidery projects this weekend, I have spend most time in the garden. But I have by now sorted about one third of the DMC embroidery yarn I bought last weekend at a flee market. I was so concerned about the smell, the previous owner must have been a heavy smoker. The smell was so bad, that I hardly could open the box or the small bags with the yarn. But after a few days in fresh air, the smell has disappeared completely. It just takes some time and a lot of space. We have yarn put on display on trays all over, and I love it. It is so nice and I am thrilled about the colours. I have arranged the yarn by colour in small plastic bags, it looks so neat. Just cant wait to get started with my project. It will probably take a few weeks to get all of the yarn sorted out.
Another good thing happened Friday. I receieved the yarn I ordered in the UK. I have been quite desperate because my long lasting project, a Cascade 220 cable sweater, was finally completed a few weeks ago. It has been one of the best knitting experiences I have had, and the yarn just fantastic. Well, it is quite impossible to buy Cascade 220 in Denmark so I really thought I had to wait until summer, where I have an errand in the US. But, luckily, I found an online yarn store, and then on Friday 16 skeins of wonderful worsted wool arrived. It is a little more expensive than buying in the US, but not a significant difference. Again, I can't believe the colours - I am a total colour addict! The first project will be a felted bag, inspired by a Noni pattern.

Lonely Bugs
Lonely bug has got company! His friends are stuffed with lonely socks as well, guess there is simply no cure for their loneliness. How sad. As the creator of this mess, I will have to keep on knitting until the problem eventually has been solved. (I used Cascade 220 Wool left overs for the projects)

Ugly Bug - Lonely Bug
Yesterday my Ugly Dolls got company! A lonely bug waiting for his friends to arrive. He has so much personality. I might be the one who is responsible for his mood, I stuffed him with a lonely sock! Tonight I will try to finish an ugly bug friend for him. (The pattern is on Ravelry - Bunny Nuggets by Rebecca Danger - there are several of his kind out there)

Spring Gardening
I have actually been very busy today. It was about time to plant some of the seedlings I have sown a few weeks back. Tomatoes, petunia, salvia, and blomster-kase. Now we have plants all over. The bulk part is yet to come. It is such a small effort, and so wonderful to watch the small plants grow. Impressive how the roots have developed in such a short while. I hope they will all survive the treatment I gave them today. I worked on the porch, even the sun was shining it was not really warm outside, not more than 8 deg C, and a bit windy too. But beautiful, sunny, and spring activity all over.
DMC yarn
Today I found a real treasure at a local flee market - a box full of DMC embroidery yarns! I can't wait to start my new project, a gift for my husband. Have a look, all the wonderfull colors, the above is just a small sample. I will post more photos as soon as I get the yarn sorted out. It is all very nicely organized in small plastic bags, but I need to give it a bit of fresh air.
